In addition to the gorgeous views, I think part of the appeal is the “thrill factor.” The terror that you’re going to fall off the edge, but you don’t. (A bit like reading a good thriller!)
If you can get past the fear, some speculate that, if the pool is above ground level, it feels like swimming in the sky!
