One Of The Coolest #Coffee Shops in Florida

What’s your favorite place to get a caffeine fix? Your kitchen? Starbucks? Or some other spot?

FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar, like Jack Reacher, will take coffeee wherever they can get it. Usually it’s a diner, or some office building where they’re meeting someone for an interview that they learned would be taking place one hour ago or less.

My favorite coffee shop is called The Oxford Exchange. There’s no place even remotely like it that I’ve ever heard of.

In addition to serving coffee at a sort of indoor courtyard area, there’s also a restaurant, book store, another retail store, and a commerce club upstairs: with shared workspaces for studying, room to relax, and conference rooms for meetings — all for access for a member fee. But the downstairs is open to the public.

At the two downstairs coffee bars, they serve Buddy Brew coffee. Buddy Brew is a specialty coffee craft roaster based out of Tampa, Florida. It’s delicious! But as much as I love the coffee itself, I love the atmosphere equally.

You can bring a computer, a book, or a friend, and lounge with your coffee on a couch or on a leather barstool.

The Oxford Exchange is across from the University of Tampa, and it’s also convenient to downtown Tampa. And the final reason it’s one of the coolest places to grab coffee in Florida? There’s a bookstore at one end of the hall!!!

    In no particular order…
-Any Starbucks that has the CLOVER system
-MADMEN on 14th between 2nd and 3rd–“just coffee” is always fresh pour-over
-Any Starbucks–even the ones in a Target
-Any small independent coffee place–and there are hundreds in NYC
-The Starbucks in the B&N Bookstore at Union Square
-Dunkin Donuts… When I need a fix and nothing else is available.

If things are really bad, I will buy some dark roast beans and chew them. This is a common occurrence and a measure of hospitality in Uganda, for instance.

If you ever find yourself in the C. Florida area, I can point you towards some amazing places for a cup 🙂
