Around this time of year, I prepare to leave Florida behind and return to Michigan. Like a snowbird, I’ll retreat back to Florida again once Michigan starts to get too cool for comfort — meaning below 70 degrees on a regular basis. Which brings me to the first topic in this week’s Saturday Special.
1. I wrote about my annual migration on my blog this week. Check out the story of how I came to live in a world of (almost) perpetual sunshine HERE.
2. Here’s more Florida atmosphere in this quote from my legal thriller Fatal Distraction:
“While driving around Florida chasing this story,
she’d been impressed with the vast open land that still existed here.”
In this excerpt, Jess Kimball refers to central Florida. An area where the cow fields stretch for miles before developing into theme parks.
Have you ever seen the vast stretches of open land in Florida? They do exist, I promise! It’s not all beaches, swamps, and theme parks.
3. If you haven’t read Fatal Distraction yet, maybe you want to snuggle up with it while seated on this contraption.
Over on my Facebook page, we got a kick out of this chair. It’s called the Kosha Chair and it’s being sold for $41,500. It’s advertised as ergonomic and it has slots for books. Would you buy it?
What were the highlights of your week? I’d love to hear what you’re up to as we say goodbye to May and hello to June!
Heavens no, I would never buy it.
It would take up a lot of space, wouldn’t it?? On the plus side, it would be a conversation starter…
