Lee Child Visits Chicago

Lee Child is signing books in Chicago this week.
One of my favorite people in one of my favorite cities? How I wish I could be there!

I blogged recently about how much I love Chicago and why everyone should visit if they get a chance.

Well, here’s yet another reason to go to Chicago. The book signing is tomorrow evening, October 8, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Lee Child will be joined by his “little brother,” thriller author Andrew Grant, at Logan Square Auditorium. The event is sponsored by City Lit Books.

Let me know if you’re going, send a picture, and tell Lee hello for me!

Lee Child Personal

Lee Child has been out and about quite a bit lately, promoting his new thriller novel Personal. He did book signings in London and New York, and even threw out the ceremonial First Pitch at a New York Yankees-Tampa Bay Rays Game.

Have you read Personal yet? How about the latest in the Hunt for Jack Reacher series, Jack in the Green?

Before Lee Child’s Killing Floor, Jack Reacher’s unfinished business leads to murder in Tampa.

FBI Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar track Reacher’s past in Tampa where they team up with Judge Willa Carson, investigative journalist Jessica Kimball, and attorney Jennifer Lane. When Retired Army Colonel Thomas Weston returns to MacDill Air Force Base for a public event after sixteen years, he’s an easy target for his enemies, including Jack Reacher. The Hunt for Justice and the Hunt for Jack Reacher collide in this long-awaited follow up to Get Back Jack.

10 Reasons To Visit Chicago

No, the city of Chicago isn’t paying me to write this blog post. 🙂 It’s just that I’m going through a bit of Midwest withdrawal, as I recently left my summer home in Michigan and flew back to Florida, snowbird that I am. Maybe blogging about one of my favorite cities in the Midwest — […]

Code Phrase: HOT LIPS

While FBI Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gapar are Hunting Jack Reacher, one question that pops up right away is at the root of Reacher’s mystique. Every cop on the planet knows that one of the best ways to find a missing person is to follow the money. But for finding Reacher, that technique proves […]

The Cuban Sandwich: Fit For A Foodie

Have you ever had a Cuban sandwich? In Jack in the Green, Carlos Gaspar remarks that he doesn’t consider himself a foodie. “A good Cuban sandwich was good enough for him. And any dessert made with guava.” He’s thinking about food… as usual… on the way to dinner at George’s Place – the restaurant owned […]

Where You Can Go in 16 Hours 50 Min

What’s the longest airline route you’ve ever taken? My flight to Italy a few years ago was about ten hours long. If you’re able to sleep for six hours or so, that leaves you with an hour to get settled, a couple hours to read, and an hour to munch on meals and flip through […]

You Don't Know Jacques

Today is National Defy Superstition Day (No Joke!)

Can you believe we’ve got a National Defy Superstition Day? (Who knew?) Are you superstitious? Kim Otto isn’t, but in Get Back Jack, she’s amused when Frances Neagley says, “Fist bump. It’s what the special investigators always did before and after a mission.” “Who knew you were so superstitious,” Kim said. Defying superstitions is the […]
