Why #BookLovers Should Clean for 15 Minutes

Bookworm Problems

The horrors! 😀

But it’s true, isn’t it? For book lovers, waiting for a new release is almost as annoying as scrubbing the bathtub. And the wait is especially agonizing when you’re reading books as part of a series. In that case, waiting becomes part of a complete emotional roller coaster, starting with the thrill of receiving the most recent book, then ravenously rushing through it, followed by the fear of finishing the book as you near the end, and finally, the let-down of realizing you have to wait who-knows-how-long for the next book.

I’m right there with you.

So, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I have two new books coming out before the year is over. The bad news is, we have to wait just a few more weeks for both books. But there is news!

One big piece of news is something I told you on my blog here this week — a sneak peek is now available for my upcoming thriller Deep Cover Jack! It’s the latest in the Hunt for Jack Reacher Series. You can find the sneak peek on iBooks. The book is set for release on September 1 and 2, 2016.

My second upcoming novel is Blood Trails. The book is due out October 4, 2016. We recently revealed the book cover – I love it!

Blood Trails

You can pre-order Blood Trails now in paperback or ebook. (Audio coming soon!)

So… how to pass the time after you finish the sneak peek and pre-ordering if you so choose? Call me crazy, but I say we celebrate by cleaning bookshelves.

A few thoughts on cleaning to hopefully prove I’m not as crazy as you think:

  • Trust me. I’d rather be spending the time reading, too. But we have to prepare for the arrival of the new books. You don’t clean for a house guest after they ring the doorbell, do you?

  • Audiobooks are the key to enjoying the process. Put in some headphones and listen to my current books while you clean the shelves.

  • There’s a way to clean bookshelves in only 15 minutes. Real Simple has a great checklist detailing how to get it done in only 15 minutes! I really like this method.

  • When you finish, you can reward yourself with 15 minutes of reading!

Enjoy your weekend, and let me know if you take the 15-minute Bookshelf Cleaning Challenge!
