There are some concepts that are simply mind boggling to grasp.
Like how many stars are in our galaxy?
(Answer: Approx. 1 billion)
How big is the circumference of the earth?
(Answer: About the same as 40 million people holding hands)
What percentage of our brains are we actually using?
(Answer: There are actually a lot of different answers. It may be a myth that we only use 10%. According to neurologist Barry Gordon, “Let’s put it this way: the brain represents three percent of the body’s weight and uses 20 percent of the body’s energy.”)
Here’s another mind boggling question:
What exactly does 9 million dollars look like?
One of the questions I had to research for my new Hunt for Jack Reacher novel, Jack the Reaper, was how much space 9 million dollars takes up.
It’s a very specific question, and one you think you might be able to wrap your head around without doing any research. But I needed to know exactly. What does 9 million dollars look like?
So, let’s start with what we know. We know what a stack of 20’s in the wallet looks like, from that time when we had a little extra cash on our hands or from the time we withdrew money from the ATM for traveling or for an emergency situation.
And, we can picture a briefcase full of $100 bills like we’ve seen in the movies.
A briefcase full of $100 bills can squeeze almost one million dollars inside. So, 9 million dollars = approximately 10 briefcases.
Now, why exactly does Jack the Reaper need to address the topic of 9 million dollars in cash??? What do Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar have up their sleeves this time?
