The Federal Reserve announced recently that the new redesigned $100 note will be released on October 8. The new note is intended to be more difficult for counterfeiters to copy.
But will it be? Watch the video and see what you think.
The new design was unveiled in 2010 while I was writing Don’t Know Jack.
Would the new $100 note have made any difference in Lee Child’s first Jack Reacher thriller, Killing Floor? Or to FBI Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar’s assignment? What say you?
As always, thank you for reading!

You are so on top of things Diane! That’s why you’re able to write fabulous thriller mysteries! Btw, I do love your book display widget. Nice! 🙂
Thanks, Karen. Glad you liked the post. Thanks for the comment!
You know, just because something is harder to counterfeit doesn’t mean it won’t be. Unfortunately those who do that kind of thing see those impossible to reproduce things as a challenge. So, it might have mad the counterfeiters more sophisticated, but they’d still be doing the crime. And Jack and Kim and Carlos would still have their work cut out for them. 🙂 Course, it also means authors Lee Child and Diane Capri had their work cut out for them, too. LOL Fun post, Diane.
So true about the “where there’s a will, there’s a way” thing, Lynette. It amazes me how easy it is for some people to figure out how to scam us! Thanks for stopping by. Good to see you!
Unfortunately, I agree with Lynette It may cut down on the number of people getting away with it, weeding out the less sophisticated criminals, but there will still be plenty that will figure it out, somehow. You are an amazing woman, Diane. Finding the time for all that you do.
Most criminals are not that smart, Deb, but there are enough smart ones to keep us on our toes, for sure. Thanks for reading — you’re one busy lady, yourself!
