Everything a foodie needs for Due Justice starts here!
QUESTION:
Is your style Jack Reacher OR Willa Carson?
Tell Us Now!
Are you a follower of The Jack Reacher Diet? Reacher may be a wanted man with nothing to lose, but deep down, his diet is, well, let’s call it lacking!
Like the man (and unlike his creator, Lee Child), Reacher’s plan is no muss, no fuss. Meals consist of two major food groups. If you’re a Jack Reacher fan, you know what they are: black coffee, and the occasional fried eggs or burger at diner dives.
The best diets contain an exercise component. Reacher’s workouts consist mostly of walking and mayhem in a style similar to mixed martial arts. Read The Killing Floor or see the new Jack Reacher movie starring Tom Cruise and you’ll get the full, er, flavor and punch.
The same great foodie experience as Due Justice? Ha! Maybe you Don’t Know Jack!
Try the Willa Carson diet and exercise plan instead. Here’s how it works in two easy rules:
1. Marry a guy who owns a 5-Star restaurant and live on the premises. Room service gourmet meals prepared precisely as you wish every day. Score!
2. Run along Bayshore Boulevard, Florida’s longest continuous sidewalk, race the dolphins every day in your convertible sports car, and deliver Due Justice without brawling.
The Carson way is much, much better than the Reacher plan, right? No? You prefer the the Reacher Diet? We want to know!

My favorite foods are chips and dips of many, many kinds….queso and chips being among the top kind.
Sounds great, Jenny! I love guacamole! What do you drink with that?
A guilty pleasure for me? Cheetos. Or dark chocolate! Best of luck with the hop!
Thanks, Cheryl! It’s a great one! And good luck to you, too!
I have a major addiction to boca burgers at Red Robin. Almost never go there, but *love* the Whiskey River BBQ Burger. Not terribly unhealthy, but not the best thing either.
If I had to say what a real guilty pleasure is though, Chester’s Flamin’ Hot Fries. I’ve ordered them in bulk before… But my excuse is that I never see them in stores 😛
Boca Burgers? Whisky River BBQ? And really, Chesters’ Flamin’ Hot Fries??? Sounds fabulous? Where have I been! 😀
My favorite foodie indulgence is always the coffee! Starbucks has been making particularly scrumptious Salted Caramel Mochas this winter.
Ohhhhhhh, yes! Coffee! Add a little irish cream or Kaluha and now you’re talkin’!
Favorite food? Italian–lasagna specifically. So that would be my indulgence. Just popping by from the IWU blog hop. I enjoyed visiting, Diane. Best of luck to you with your books and to all who enter your giveaway! Happy Holidays!
All things Italian are fabulous – have to agree!
I love love love Burritos! LoL!!!!!
Burritos! I love all Mexican food, Danielle! Good choice!
My favorite indulgence are chocolate snickers blizzards!! Mmmmm
Now Melissa, that really does sound decadent!
Dark chocolate anything (I have excellent cookie and cake recipes), with a frothy espresso drink on the side!
Yes! Great choices, Trix! I’ll be right over….
I really love lasagna. It’s my most favorite food! 🙂
Crystal, Julie said that, too. Lasagna is one of the best Italian dishes, to be sure!
I’m a popcorn man, Diane 🙂
Great prizes!
I love popcorn, too, Fabio! Plain? Or do you enjoy all the flavored ones?
Food pleasure is anything that makes your mouth water, sparks the memory chips in your brain, and fills the heart with tingles when its eaten!!! Mine run from a great steak to chocolate to warm homemade bread.
Ooooooo! Great choices, Della! You’re making me hungry! What wine are you serving with all that? I’ll be right over!
This time of year I like to great myself with white chocolate and peppermint pretzels. There’s nothing better than sitting down with some of those, a cup of coffee, and of course, a good book…
Maybe I’d add some hot chocolate to go with that, Annie! And what book? So many great possibilities one can choose if you win one of our prizes!
Country girl in me has to say chicken fried steak and potatoes 🙂
Okay, Stephanie, I have always wondered about this! What exactly is chicken fried steak? Seriously. I am dying to know!!!
Chocolate calls my name. If it is in the house, I have to pursue ruthlessly. Don’t Snicker. I cannot rest until all the chocolate has been consumed. So, for that reason, I have it only in limited amounts.
Oh, boy, Gail! I am sooooo with you there! But when given the option, what’s your favorite chocolate?
I like a dessert offered by a national chain restaurant. It’s called “Death by Chocolate.” It is a a warm, fudgey brownie with walnuts, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, smothered with chocolate sauce and piles of fluffy whipped cream. Double yum.
The best food gift I ever received was a box of Godiva chocolates. The hazelnut pralines are my all-time favorite. Second-best food gift was a can of Schokinag Triple Chocolate cocoa mix. To die for!!!!
Love Godiva, Dana! I’m unfamiliar with Schokanig, though. I’ll have to look that up!
The best foodie gift to give-and recieve! Is beer bread! It’s so thick and yummy, it’s just a great snack to have during the winter doldrums. My guilty pleasure though, would have to be snickers dip!
SNICKERS DIP
Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) Cool Whip
1/4 cup brown sugar
6 Snickers bars, chopped
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together.
Chill overnight to better blend the flavors.
Serve with pretzels or graham crackers.
Beer bread? That’s a new one on me, too! I mean, I like beer and I like bread, and I’ve eaten a lot of bread with beer, but……..(and that Snickers dip sounds like it would be heavenly with Dana’s hot chocolate and Annie’s peppermint pretzels!)
All things chocolate… my current favorite is Guiness chocolate cake – amazingly juicy and delicious! A slice of that and a cup of good coffee and I’m in heaven.
Guinness Chocolate Cake? Made with stout? Is that going to be anything like Kelly’s beer bread?
I don’t know the bread, but it sounds interesting!
And I see you found a recipe for the cake – try it! http://pinterest.com/pin/460915343083435278/
The best foodie gift ever was a sampler of pickled organic veggies – all old varieties.
Pickled “old” veggies? What would those be? Like heirloom tomatoes or something?
My brother and his wife got us a year’s subscription to “Cooking Light Magazine” last year. It was wonderful. Such yummy yummy recipes.
Rikki, I’m gonna need that Cooking Light if I try all these other suggestions! I’ll weigh a zillion pounds before this hop is over!
Lasagna and meatloaf are my two comfort food splurges…homemade, of course!
Love both of those, Donna! I have an old recipe from my husband’s grandmother for meatloaf that cooks on top of the stove instead of baking in the oven. Labor intensive, but very yummy. What’s your favorite?
The best foodie gift I recieved was the Dark Chocoalte Rum Cake soaked in rum.
Now you’re talkin, Linda, Chocolate rum cake! Oooooooo–this just keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?
The best foodie pleasure is pizza baked in a stone oven, thin crust, thick with mozzarella cheese, loaded with ham, sweet onions and tomatoes.
And green olives, too! I’m sooooo there! Let’s add some of that Guinness to go with it, Whaddaya say?
Favorite Foodie Indulgence is Puppy Chow! Just made it tonight 🙂 Thanks for the entry!
Puppy Chow???? The dog food?????
favorite foodie gift was candy from Denmark from my sister!
What kind of candy?
Oh – most definitely a Willa – but I tend to have more days that are coffee and yoghurt than I would care to admit. Best foodie gift? The new cuisinart blender/processor set I got a couple weeks ago from the DH – mostly because he wants more soups. Favorite foodie pleasure? Creme Brulee- with a touch of ginger in the sugar top… OR – lamb stew with olives, tomato, green beans and feta over orzo.
followed you in all the places I can
I adore the idea of an all Indie Blog hop – thank you for participating
This all sounds great!! Willa’s “go to” favorite gourmet meal to “cook” is microwave popcorn and dry red wine!

How very cool! And I’ll try your recipe – sounds delicious!
Best foodie gift I ever got was from this older lady who was a nurse and gave my father allergy shots for years – every year while she was actively practicing – she would give us a huge container of home baked goods for the holidays – breads, cookies, cakes – it was wonderful!
Foodie indulgence for me is anything with chocolate…lol…it’s my weakness
I repinned the yummy looking pretzels – http://pinterest.com/mariadur/food/
Very cool! I like home baked goodies, too — but I never bake them myself. OMG! What a disaster that would be!! However, I do order the ones from William Sonoma and bake them in my oven. Does that count? 😀

All about the alcoholic beverages right now!
Right there with ya, Kelly! Something about this time of year brings out my inner boozer, too!
Homemade cake with nutella and vanilla ganache. Amazing!
Oooooo! Sounds fabulous! Do you have a recipe? Pin it!
Chocolate Guiness Cake….because who can live without chocolate
Totally with you there!

I pinned many.
That’s great! Thanks!
Every year, for Easter, my sister sends me a dozen eggs. These are not just any ordinary eggs, oh no. These eggs are coconut eggs, covered in a thick, dark, rich chocolate coating. These eggs are made by the church ladies in a little town in New Jersey, by hand, hundreds and hundreds of them, year after year. It`s a tradition they started almost half a century ago to raise funds for a small congregation. The church has grown, the orders for the eggs, which are shipped all over the States now, have grown. But still, these eggs are made in the basement of the church in the little town in New Jersey, where I grew up, by the church ladies. Why, you ask, are these eggs so special? Besides the sweet, but not too sweet, fresh coconut inside. The dark chocolate outside, that I usually eat off all at once, saving the coconut for last, nope, not the chocolate. It`s the sensory overload of taking that first bite. It brings back of Easter of my childhood. I can still remember my parents doing the countdown to the Easter egg hunt. For some reason I always found my sister’s basket before I found mine. These eggs bring back the best memories for me. Some of the greatest flavors are just memories…
That sounds so totally awesome, Annie! Any way we could order these? I’d love to try them!
Best Food Gift was the Cheese & Wine Basket my sister bought (name is evading my mind at the moment)
Comfort food for me personally would be Hot Wings (mild spice level- wierd strange and unique but hey thats me)

My favorite foodie pleasure is putting up small batches of preserves. My favorite so far is grapefruit jam.
Grapefruit Jam sounds awesome!
When I was a little girl, my favorite foodie gift was those little boxes in the Figis or Swiss Colony deliveries. 🙂
Nothing brats chocolate!
The event is the opening premiere of Jack Reacher. Tom Cruise plays Jack Reacher.
