Readers Ask: Can I Read Diane’s Books My Way?

Before I get to your questions, I must, must, must THANK YOU for making my books Amazon Best Sellers!

Your response has been overwhelming, and I am both grateful and awed by your enthusiasm. This is such a thrill for me! Thanks to you and my friend Lee Child and his Reacher’s Reportmore readers are enjoying my books. How many more readers? Here’s a recent screen shot for Don’t Know Jack:

Don't Know Jack - #1 Mystery>Women Sleuths

Okay. I could spend this whole post gushing about you. But I promised readers I’d answer their questions. I’m still grinning ear-to-ear, though.

Recent Readers Ask:

Q: Where can I get your books?

You can buy my available e-books by clicking on the list on the sidebar of this blog or click HERE

Q: Why are your books exclusive to Kindle?

Delivering books to readers who want them is a daunting task, especially for an indie like me. Right now, we believe Kindle offers my books the simplest, fastest, widest access to the greatest number of readers around the world.

Q: Easy access? Is that all?

Access is the most important thing. We want readers to be able to read the books. But there’s more.

Because my e-books are currently exclusive with Amazon, at least some readers can borrow and read them at no cost. Almost like a library.

Also, Amazon allows me to offer you books to “buy” for free from time to time under restricted circumstances. This means the e-book is yours to keep, not just to read and return.

Thousands of you said you loved the opportunity when we offered Carly’s Conspiracy, George’s Game, Harper’s Hell, Annabelle’s Attack, and Darla’s Deceit FREE. We wanted to have that option again.

Q: When are you offering FREE books?

We’re not allowed to offer books free all the time, and we’d go broke if we did that, which would mean no more books at all. But we want to offer free books when we can and Amazon allows us to do that for you.

If you’ve signed up for our mailing list, we’ll let you know in advance when our FREE books will be available so you’ll have a chance to grab yours. Sign up HERE.

Q: What about other sites where your books are offered free or cheaper?

Beware of these sites. Not just for my books, but for all books. Music and photography, too, for that matter. Remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Although e-book piracy is a serious problem for all authors, I believe honest people don’t steal and dishonest people aren’t deterred even by security measures at the Pentagon.

So I’ve chosen not to encrypt my e-books.

In my experience, given the chance, honest people do the honest thing.

Q: Can I help?

You can help stop piracy by refusing to support pirates.

If you find my e-books offered “free” or at reduced prices from sites other than Amazon, you may be dealing with pirates without realizing it. Please let me know about it HERE.

Q: What if I don’t own a Kindle? Do I have to buy one to read your books?

No Kindle? No Problem! Read Diane Capri e-books easily on any device.

The simplest way is to download the free Kindle App for your device. I read books, magazines, and newspapers on my iPhone, iPad, Mac, and PC using these Kindle Apps. You can easily download the Kindle App for your device by clicking HERE.

Q: But what about devices without an available Kindle App?

If you’d prefer to read on Nook, Sony e-Reader, Kobo, or another device not supported by a Kindle App, we have instructions for easy conversion of my books to e-Pub or PDF format. Find them by clicking HERE.

Q: What about print, audio, and other formats?

At the moment, none of my e-books are available in other formats. I wish they were, though.

Want to help make that happen? We can do it if enough people support us.

Click “Like” on each of my book pages if you do like the books. Post your honest reviews of my books on Amazon and Goodreads. “Like” us on Facebook. Recommend us to your friends.

Indeed, do this for all the authors you enjoy. They’ll love you for it, and you’ll be helping them get the word out, too.

Okay, that’s all until next time. I’m going back to gushing now. Until next time, remember:

We want you to love our books! (But we can’t read your mind…)

Tell us what you want HERE. Or leave us your comments below. We’ll do our best to make it happen.

Thank you all for reading!

We are thrilled to report that Don’t Know Jack is receiving a welcome reception both from readers who’ve never met Jack Reacher and those who love him. Diane Capri Reveals Maxine Paetro (and James Patterson)

Although he’d be embarassed to hear me say so, the truth is this: James Patterson is a superhero. His accomplishments are astonishing and inspiring. Check out his biography, which lists too few of his achievements and includes this typically modest understatement, “Patterson is a life-long champion of books and reading.” His ReadKiddoRead program, Pageturner Awards, […]

What? Me? Indie? Yikes!

I love e-books. I’ve loved my Kindle since the moment we met. Yet, although I’ve been writing my entire life and owned a business for decades, indie publishing seemed foolhardy. Too many mountains to climb, too much resistance, too hard, too much investment, too little reward, I thought. But the situation is not what I […]
