Readers Name Favorite TV Shows

Recently, I posed this question to readers on My Facebook page: What’s your favorite TV show?

Favorite TV Show

I write in the mystery/thriller/suspense genre and I wondered how reader interests were reflected in television preferences in the US and around the world. Responses were varied, fun, and very enlightening. (We’ll get to that in a second.)

First, for those of you who aren’t on Facebook or didn’t have a chance to answer, what’s your favorite television show? Do you agree with this chart of the favorites named so far by Facebook readers?

Favorite TV ShowsSo far, the top votes on my Facebook page are for Castle, Criminal Minds, and NCIS, in that order.

In all of these shows, a group or a team of professionals investigates crimes. Hmm. Are we seeing any similarities to my books?

In Fatal Distraction, investigative journalist Jess Kimball works with Florida Governor Helen Sullivan. In Don’t Know Jack, FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar hunt for and investigate Jack Reacher. In Due Justice, Judge Willa Carson uses her connections to get to the bottom of a murderous conspiracy.

I can understand why my readers like the TV shows listed above! I do, too. How about you? Do hit reply and tell me what you like to watch on TV!

My husband and I exactly agree with the list except for Walking Dead. Maybe we should try it.

I didn’t submit an answer on the poll. However,my favorite shows are Elementary and Revenge. I also like Copper and Longmire. But that is not why I am posting this message. My post is to say THANK YOU for the great bookmarks. They are already in use and will be for years.

I love Crime Drama, I agree with most except Castle. I have tried to watch it and there is something keeping me from falling in love with it. I watch so many, many Drama’s! One of my absolute fav’s and I think one of the best shows on TV is Person on Interest. #2 I gotta love me some Revenge, talk about a strong female lead! Emily Thorne is amazing! As a writer the stats are very interesting!

Thank goodness for DVR as two of my new favorites go head to head each week on CBS and NBC, those being Blacklist and Intelligence. I also love Person of Interest on CBS. Of course the original CSI is still going strong as well.

The there’s real crime drama with 48 Hours!

Midsommer Murders, Rosemary & Thyme, any Poirot/Agatha Christie is top watching priority. I don’t like graphic crime shows so avoid us tv.

So surprising more UK shows aren’t mentioned! You have not seen great mystery thriller television until you’ve seen WHITECHAPEL, DCI BANKS, SCOTT & BAILEY, INSPECTOR MORSE, it’s prequel ENDEAVOR, SILK and LAW & ORDER:UK – fantastic television with twisting turning mysteries that are unbelievably entertaining! Good to see LUTHER mentioned. Brit TV can’t be beat especially for crime/police drama and mystery thrillers!

PS – sorry to comment twice but how can we forget the new installment of Sherlock Holmes – SHERLOCK with Benedict Cumberpatch!
