Saturday Special: The Strawberry Festival

Last week was National Strawberry Day. You celebrated, right??

Here in Florida, we celebrate with the Strawberry Festival. It’s similar to a state fair, complete with a midway and musical acts, except with an added emphasis on Florida’s Favorite Red Fruit.

In my Hunt for Justice thriller Fatal Distraction, Jess Kimball notices the abundance of strawberry fields in Florida … many of which will likely be going to make strawberry shortcake to be served at the Strawberry Festival.

Here’s a list of some of the headline entertainment this year. Which performers would you most like to see?

  Judy, it’s a lot like a fair, except the majority of the food being sold is strawberry-related 🙂

We here in Virginia have a strawberry festival too. But the Pungo Strawberry Festival is in May as our berries are not reafy yrt.
