You know you can do more than sip coffee or tea while reading, right?
You can drive, vacuum, even go for a nice walk while reading. Or maybe I should say, you can do these things while having a book read TO YOU.
The ability to keep the story going while you go about your life’s activities is thanks to Audible, where I’m proud to say that ELEVEN of my books are now available!
We’ve worked hard on these, and the narration is fantastic. In fact, the narrator for some of my books was just chosen for a contract to voice two Roxanne Conrad titles! Congrats, Kelley Hazen!
If you use Audible, check these books out and do let me know what you think. In addition to the books pictured, Twisted Justice is coming soon!

One day my husband came home to discover me cleaning the shower (shower curtain was closed) while listening to an audiobook and thought that I was listening to an audiobook while taking a shower. He thought that was over-the-top audiobook listening; I thought it was just taking it to the next level. I now have a bluetooth speaker in the bathroom and happily listen and lather.
What a great idea for audio-book lovers, Yvonne!
I love audiobooks. In fact, I’m listening to one right now. I read 150 books last year. I could not have done that without listening to audiobooks. I have found that I like to “read” different genres of books in different manners. But, just consuming the information is important to me.
That’s a good point, Kenna. I like audio books for non-fiction, but can’t seem to get into the “fictive dream” for fiction when I’m hearing the book instead of reading it or watching it, like television or film. Thanks for the comment.
Diane,
I am a 65 year old male. I have never been able to multitask and don’t think it a good idea to start now.
When I read a book, time stands still and I am oblivious to my surroundings so putting head phones on and trying to do “work” would be non productive. I’d just have to sit down, close my eyes and listen to the book.
Tried it and that was the result.
Allan, I hear you. 🙂 I’m not an “aural” learner myself. I don’t enjoy, for example, talking on the radio. But so many of my friends do love audio books. When I tried listening on the treadmill at the gym, I nearly killed myself!
I did listen to an audio book once and could not finish it. I needed to hear different voices for each character. I have a friend with Maculardegeneration and she loves audio books gets hers from the Blind Society.
