Making the Most of Your Beach Reads

If you’re an avid reader, you’re probably familiar with the struggles associated with reading outside. The glare from the sun on the screen of the e-reader, the book’s pages getting wet while you’re floating around the pool, the eye exhaustion from squinting…the list goes on.

Beach Reading Struggles

That’s why it’s not surprising that a Floridian invented Coppertone sunscreen, right? We LOVE reading books on the beach and we aren’t about to let the threat of a sunburn stop us!

What’s your favorite beach read?

Review- Licensed to Thrill 3- Beach Read

This summer, might I suggest Licensed to Thrill 3? Readers call it a great beach read! It contains my Hunt for Justice thriller novels Due Justice, Twisted Justice, and Secret Justice.

Besides sunscreen, here are some other ideas about how to make the most of your beach reading or outdoor reading experience.

The last time I was at the beach, I saw a row of three women sitting under some beach chair contraptions that looked like this:

All three women were reading, and I can understand why! Whether reading from real pages or from an e-reader, the built-in shade is a great idea.

If you’ve ever tried to read in a pool or even in a bathtub, you’re familiar with the problem of wet, soggy pages. Here’s a neat device to help with that problem. The fingers go through the holes in the bottom, and you turn the pages that way. As an added bonus, it floats! I have no idea how well it actually works, but it’s a clever concept.

Chances are, if you’re reading outside, you’ll want sunglasses. Did you know that polarized sunglasses can help reduce glare on e-readers?

So you’ve got your sunscreen, your sunglasses, and your chair  —
Now don’t forget a great hat for added shade!
