I’m thinking of you this Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., and am sending a little court humor your way:

In Jack and Joe, FBI Special Agent Kim Otto smells baked goods while on assignment and looks forward to Thanksgiving — a holiday for which attendance by the large, extended Otto family is mandatory. Agent Gaspar is expecting the birth of his first son (and fifth child), hoping for something special to celebrate this Thanksgiving, too.
Is Thanksgiving a holiday you celebrate? If so, does it involve family?
Otto’s father is German-American and her mother is Vietnamese-American. Gaspar’s family is Cuban-American. Me? My family came from England, probably as indentured servants, a long time ago. They settled in the South and the family folklore claims that at least a few of the family members were Native Americans back then. My great-grandmother’s name was Evergreen. That sounds like it could be Native American, at least a little bit, doesn’t it?
